VOCATIONAL TRAINING
LTA ON ROAD ASSESSMENT FOR ELDERLY VOCATIONAL LICENCE HOLDER
The On-Road Assessment is a requirement by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for selected vocational licence renewals who are reaching the age of 70,73 and 74.
The assessment evaluates a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely and comply with prevailing traffic rules and regulations.
Drivers will be assessed on the following areas:
- Speed control
- Observation and awareness
- Planning and judgement
- Vehicle handling
- Compliance with traffic rules
Drivers who receive an assessment notification from LTA are required to book and complete the assessment within the stipulated timeframe stated in the notification.
Documents to Bring
Please bring the following documents on the day of registration and assessment:
- NRIC / FIN
- Valid Singapore Driving Licence
- LTA Assessment Notification Letter or Email
- LTA SMS confirming successful completion of the medical examination (HMER)
Medical Examination
With effect from 2 February 2026, medical examination results are submitted electronically through the Harmonised Medical Examination Report (HMER) System. Drivers are no longer required to submit physical medical forms to LTA.

The assessment is available in:
- English
- Chinese
Important Information
Drivers are advised to complete the assessment and fulfil all renewal requirements promptly upon receiving LTA’s notification to avoid any disruption to the validity of their vocational licence.
